Welcome to the Bracebridge United Church community! As your ministry team we would encourage you to join us on the journey of faith that we share in this community. Our gathering is made richer by each individual who joins with us, adding the uniqueness of their perspective to the already rich tapestry that exists. As a church we remain as one of the few places where the different generations gather to share in the significant passages of life and to encourage one another in discerning the things that matter in our living.

We come together for the sharing of faith stories that continue to unfold. We strive to support one another through prayer and study and in practical ways in our efforts to follow in the footsteps of the living Christ. We often challenge the way things are in our world and dare to proclaim how things might be, as a part of the prophetic tradition of our faith.  We seek to offer hope to the despairing and healing to the broken, recognizing our need for one another and the wonder of God at various points in our living.

To be sure, there is both challenge and promise involved in striving to be an authentic community, and sometimes as fallible humans we miss the mark. As Martin Copenhaver once wrote, “To me, the affirmation that God can be found outside of a church has never seemed like much of a claim. The true wonder is that God can be found inside a church, among quirky, flawed and broken people who have little in common and yet are bound to one another.”  We believe that God is found in a richer and deeper way in our coming together in the wonder of community. We hope you find a welcome and a place for you to belong through the varying programs and entry points offered here at Bracebridge United.
