Additional Information on Musical Resources

·         The Senior Choir has traditionally prepared special choir services in December and June and occasionally presents cantatas or longer works (eg. Faure Requiem, Spring of 2008).  The Senior Choir is fairly fluent at reading new music.  A number of the singers are soloists.

 

·         Senior Choir library has over 400 general anthems, over 100 Christmas anthems and about 20 SATB collections and cantatas.  There is also a Youth and Children’s library.

 

·         Our two-manual pipe organ was rebuilt by Keates-Geissler Organs in 1977 to reach a total of 19 ranks and 22 stops.  A new console was added at that time.

 

·         Joyful Noise is an occasional choir of enthusiastic singers.  
 

·         The Old Tyme Gospel Band is a self-directed group of hearty, talented musicians who play and sing once a month at the early service; they take their musical ministry into the community on a regular basis.  They have released a CD.

 

·         We have three active handbell choirs.  Generally, one of the choirs plays once a month as well as for special services.

 

·         The congregation shows a keen appreciation of both classical, contemporary, and gospel music.

 

·         The Worship Committee arranges for appropriate substitutes when the organist/choir director is away.

 

·         Approximate number of onsite weddings annually:  8
