Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

At Bracebridge United Church, we want your wedding to be special and uniquely yours. In the United Church of Canada, we see people as unique, loved creations of God. A wedding is a life-changing event and at Bracebridge United Church, we offer couples the opportunity to draw on the resources of the Christian faith to celebrate their wedding day. We believe God intends loving relationships to be faithful, responsible, just, healing, and sustaining of the couple and those around them, and that such relationships require preparation and nurturing. 

Couples may be married regardless of race, creed, colour, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation. We also celebrate the union of previously divorced people and couples with differing religious backgrounds. Our church is fully accessible. 

Our minister, Rev. Kathleen Taylor, enjoys helping couples with their wedding plans. Here are some things to consider: 

Wedding Fees

On-site Wedding:

Off-site Wedding: is $300 (plus mileage, if applicable).

Meeting with the Minister

The wedding couple is required to meet with the minister twice to prepare for their wedding and is encouraged to attend a pre-marriage seminar.

Marriage License

The Marriage License may be purchased at any town office or city hall in Ontario, and must be presented to the minister a minimum of one week prior to the wedding.

Cancellations

If the wedding is to be postponed or cancelled, the church office should be notified immediately.

Your wedding date is not confirmed until you have spoken to a minister and the deposit has been paid.
